Headcount and workforce analytics
How to use headcount reports and workforce analytics in Dapplon to understand your organisation structure.
Headcount report basics
The headcount report answers: "How many people work here, and how is that broken down?"
You can break headcount down by:
- Department
- Location
- Employment type (permanent vs. contract)
- Gender
- Salary band (e.g., below 5 LPA, 5-10 LPA, above 10 LPA)
Running the headcount report
- Go to Reports > Workforce > Headcount
- Set the As of Date — the snapshot date for the report
- Select the Group By dimension: Department, Location, or Type
- Click Generate
- The report shows a table and a bar chart
The attrition report
The attrition report tracks employee exits:
- Go to Reports > Workforce > Attrition
- Set the date range (e.g., last quarter)
- Filter by department if needed
- The report shows:
- Total exits in the period
- Voluntary vs. involuntary breakdowns
- Attrition rate (exits / average headcount × 100)
Note
Healthy attrition rates vary by industry. IT services typically see 15-25% annual attrition; manufacturing 5-10%. Use this report monthly to spot departments with unusually high attrition.

- The org chart shows the full company reporting hierarchy
