Conducting 360-degree feedback
How to set up and run 360-degree feedback reviews in Dapplon, where peers, managers, and direct reports all contribute.
What is 360 feedback?
In a 360-degree review, an employee receives feedback from multiple sources simultaneously:
- Self review — the employee evaluates themselves
- Manager review — their direct manager's assessment
- Peer review — 3-5 colleagues the employee nominates or the HR team assigns
- Downward review — for managers, their direct reports assess them
Combining these perspectives gives a far more complete picture than a manager-only review.
Setting up a 360 review cycle
- Go to Performance > Review Cycles
- Create a new cycle and select 360 Review as the type
- Set the review window (2-3 weeks is typical)
- Choose whether employees nominate their own peers or HR assigns them
Peer nomination process
- Once the cycle is launched, each employee receives an email asking them to nominate peers
- They log in to employee.dapplon.com and go to Performance > My Reviews
- They select 3-5 colleagues from the company directory
- Nominations are submitted to HR for approval
- HR can add, remove, or reassign peer reviewers from Performance > Cycle Management
Filling in a peer review
- Reviewers receive an email with the review form link
- They log in and go to Performance > Reviews to Give
- For each reviewee, they complete the form:
- Rate each competency on a 1-5 scale
- Write specific examples for each rating
- Submit the overall recommendation
- Peer reviewers remain anonymous in the final report
Note
Self and manager reviews are not anonymous. Only peer reviews are shown to the employee as aggregated anonymous feedback.
Viewing the 360 report
- After all reviews are submitted and the window closes, go to the cycle
- Click Generate Reports
- Each employee's 360 report shows:
- Average peer ratings per competency
- Manager's ratings
- Self ratings vs. manager vs. peers (gap analysis)
- Share the report with the employee from Performance > Reports
In this section
- Setting up performance review cycles
- Creating and tracking goals (OKRs)
