Creating and tracking goals (OKRs)
How to set up company, department, and individual goals in Dapplon and track progress through the quarter.
OKRs in Dapplon
OKR stands for Objectives and Key Results. An Objective is a qualitative, ambitious goal (e.g., "Become the most-loved HR platform in India"). Key Results are the measurable milestones that tell you whether you are achieving the objective (e.g., "Reach 50,000 active users by Q3").
Dapplon's goal module lets you cascade goals from the company level down to teams and individuals.
Creating a company-level goal
- Go to Performance > Goals
- Click + New Goal
- Set the Level: Company, Department, or Individual
- Enter the Objective — keep it inspirational but clear
- Set the Time Period: Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, or a custom date range
- Click Add Key Result and enter each metric:
- Key Result description
- Target value (e.g., 50,000 users)
- Current value (starts at 0)
- Unit (users, %, INR, etc.)
- Add 3-5 key results per objective
- Click Save Goal
Cascading goals to teams
- Open the company goal
- Click Add Child Goal
- Set the level to Department or Individual
- The child goal auto-links to the parent
- Fill in the department or individual's specific objective and key results that contribute to the parent goal
Updating key result progress
- Any employee can update their own key results
- Go to Performance > My Goals
- Click on a key result
- Update the Current Value
- Add a progress note explaining what drove the change
- Click Save — the goal's progress percentage updates automatically
Note
Dapplon does not pull numbers automatically from external systems. Progress updates are manual. Encourage teams to update at least weekly.
