Recruitment & Hiring
Using the Kanban hiring board
How to use the Trello-style Kanban view in Dapplon Recruitment to drag candidates through hiring stages visually.
Why the Kanban view
The Kanban board gives you a visual, at-a-glance view of your entire pipeline for a job opening. Each column is a stage. Each card is a candidate. Drag cards between columns to advance or move candidates. It works exactly like Trello.
This view is most useful when you are actively interviewing multiple candidates simultaneously and need to track where each person is without opening individual profiles.
Opening the Kanban board
- Go to Recruitment > Jobs
- Click on any active job posting
- Click the Kanban View toggle in the top-right of the page (next to the List View toggle)
Reading the board
Each column represents a pipeline stage. Inside each column:
- The number in the column header shows how many candidates are at that stage
- Each card shows: candidate name, application date, and the recruiter assigned to them
- A colour-coded dot indicates urgency (green = on track, amber = action needed, red = overdue)
Moving a candidate with drag-and-drop
- Find the candidate card in the current stage column
- Click and hold the card
- Drag it to the destination column
- Release — the candidate's stage updates automatically
- The candidate receives a notification email if you have email notifications enabled for that stage
Adding a note on a card
- Click the candidate card to open the mini-profile popup
- Click Add Note
- Type your feedback or observation
- Click Save — the note is timestamped and attributed to you
- All team members with access to this job can see the note
Note
Notes are internal and never visible to candidates.
Customising pipeline stages
- Go to Recruitment > Pipeline Settings
- Click Edit Stages for the relevant job or create a global template
- Drag stages to reorder them, click the edit icon to rename, or click the delete icon to remove a stage
- Add new stages by clicking + Add Stage
- Click Save — the Kanban board updates immediately
In this section
- Managing the recruitment pipeline
- Scheduling interviews and collecting feedback
- Sending offer letters to candidates
